BroScience

I am a bit of a gym rat nowadays, and given that fact, I spend a lot of time looking into fitness tips and videos of that sort. I’m doing well with my fitness and my nutrition but, I realized a lot of people have the “Key” to getting sexy for the summer. Looking deeper into this, I found that there is a term for this weight room banter and it’s more commonly known as “BRO-science!”

What is bro-science? It's time-tested, opinion-based, advice that would normally be ignored or laughed off by most but because this is a “Bro or Bruh” that maybe 225 lbs of muscle that lives in the gym, you are inclined to pay attention to him. Ok let’s be real, First and foremost is the fact that NO ONE has this to an exact science. I, little old me, can tell you, “20 mins on the treadmill four times a week will have you looking like a God in no time…” Yeah... NO!

It may work for some and do nothing for others. That being said I will say SOME bro-sciences are accurate, some are just someone’s happenstance that seemed to work. Secondly, there is an industry to fitness and bro-science at the same time. You turn the TV on anytime between 2 am - 5 am, you have EVERY program on the planet ready, willing, and able to give you that "dream beach body." On the other side, these “Bro”s aren’t exactly idiots; they have shirts, workout apparel, and even supplements that are all for sale right here - right now.

What do we do? In short research… find what works for your body and lifestyle. Look at your diet and fitness goals. We all fall short of our dreams but if you are consistent and believe that you are committed and giving it your best you can make it. I utilize a trainer, and that was a journey, but I took the time to get to know someone who recognized my goals and helped me achieve them.

Bottom-line remember, no one is going to give you anything of value for free. AGAIN, Bro Science can be good but keep it on the level of that uncle that’s advising on life on the front porch. Do your research, focus on what works FOR YOU, and if things you’ve been told in the gym correlate KOOL!!! We all want that goal to be accomplished, I’m right there with you! I give my advice as far as what has worked for me and in my life but remember it’s all in what you put into yourself.
